Software Practice : Creating a Small House

In this post I will try to create a small house floorplan for an Interior Design project, my theme for house is minimalism.

I began by opening Homebyme, I clicked on create a new project and opened a blank template. 


I had researched average small house sizes in UK and I found that under small house plan which is under 50 square meters. (archdaily, 2017) . Then also I looked at other floorplans to see how these are laid out. Here is an example,

Here I can see how the place divided into rooms and where furnitures put in place. In this floorplan there is an open kitchen with living room at first entry and average bedroom and bathroom. My house will be similar with this plan.
Then I clicked on the tools menu and then clicked on build wall. Then I drew walls to create a basic floor. Then I clicked on validate and now I had my floor.


Space planning is one the most important thing in interior design and now I'm gonna think how to divide the rooms properly. I will do an open kitchen so I separate the place in three rooms, living room with open kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. I chose simple white doors to keep the minimalism design and place the doors as open inside the room. 


This space planning is good for small house with 2 rooms and bathroom. 
I changed the 'exterior' to garden by clicking 'floor plan' on the left hand side of the page. Then I clicked on the add exterior and chose garden.

I decorated the bathroom by just clicking the products and then clicking on decorate and decorating the bathroom by choosing wallpapers, flooring and decorations. Then I clicked on the furnish and chose the furniture I wanted to add.


Also I took an image of the 3D view of the whole house so I could get an overview. 


Overall I really enjoyed while creating a bathroom for small house. I think the space is enough for this type of small house but I couldn't add the storage to bathroom instead I added one shelf. I didn't want to put a lot off stuff in the bathroom because the it will be no space to stand.

Sequential Image Class Practice

We completed a class practice on creating sequential images this week.  I decided to take a couple of live photos of me and my friend are jumping . This pictures shows our actions and movements from standing to jumping into the air.  I used Iphone 14 Pro phone. I used 'burst' option in the camera and I set the timer for 5 seconds to capture our picture in the air. These are the settings below. In these pictures we inspired by Jumping Horse (1887) by Eadweard Muybridge. His photos include one horse and the man on the horse are jumping over an obstacle. And we decided take similar pictures like his photos which I put down below. And these are my original pictures.  The next step is that I am going to put my images together in Pixlr Editor. Major project : Initial ideas

 For digital arts I'm going to create project for our subject area. My subject area is interior design.   contemporary minimalist design of living room   I looked up some interior designs to decide what kind of design I wanted to do. I liked minimalist design, modern design and industrial design. And I searched a little bit more then I found contemporary design which is contains modernism, minimalism and art deco.
