Art Portfolio: Final Reflection

This is final post for this term and I will reflect my works that I did during this term. In this module I learned many new information about my subject area. I explored and developed many skills during this module. I developed my drawing skills with different kinds of techniques such as perspective drawing including one-point and two-point. I learned how to use different perspectives points to draw from different angles and different perspectives. I become more familiar to decide a colour palette, choose best material for my furniture or decorations that I am using in my project. I am still at the beginning of learning process but I think I developed myself through the researches that I made.

It was so difficult at first to make researches. I was struggling with making effective and correct sentences, writing summaries and references. However I researched a lot for this project to do my best. I have done many researches about; space planning, colour palette, designing, materials and sustainability and lighting. These researches helped me to understand how can I make the space functional and how can I design the place in a best way for people. While doing researches I made a lot of practice about planning, drawing, sketching and painting. These improved my idea and skills in a proper way and at final I did my best with the improvements. 

I looked at the Farm Cup Coffee Shop by Liqui Design, which I really liked the design and the design was similar to that I wanted in my project. I got inspired the round shape café counter, the types of decorations and long wide windows from that research. Seeing how the thoughts in my head came together in an environment made the ideas in my head clearer.    

I  tried  some new software such as coohom and floor planner for my floor plan. I tried to make my 3D model in coohom but I struggled with making changes in this software so I chose Homebyme to finish my final 3D outcome. I improved my skills in Homebyme with using different colour palettes and trying different designs and taking better final pictures with using the settings. I chose Homebyme because it has more options for furniture and decoration.

Finally, I was bad with timing and deciding my final design. I would like to finish my works more on time. I want to practice with painting the concept sketches because I struggled a lot during this project and I have to make some practices with perspective drawing. I am planning to learn from my mistakes and make a much more organized and beautiful project in the 3rd term.
