Ideas Development: The Object Lesson

 For this task we chose an object to develop new ideas and be creative with the object.  I chose beads and tried to change these beads into something that I can use in my project. I use natural light and flashlight to see difference of reflection. I thought that how can I apply these objects into my project. 


First ,I wrote down some words that come to my mind related with beads including feelings, shape, colors and lightning. Which they are:
-jewelry
-shining 
-colorful
-diamond shape
-lightning
-luxurious
-crystal
-edges
-shadow
-reflection


After I took a picture with flashlight, I saw the colors and shape clearly. I realized that I could adapt the beads beautifully to decoration since they were transparent in natural light and revealed different colors in flashlight. Then I started to draw some designs and placed or adapt this diamond shape bead into my design. First thing that came to my mind is lightning because with the shape it reflect the light very well. I drew some sketches of the table lamp and chandelier. I thought of using the shape for table lamp because it might distract people sitting at the table. Other one was chandelier and I can use both the shape and material in the design because it will add a nice atmosphere to the place. 


Other designs that came to mind were glass and vase. Diamond shape is a common use in glass designs and it can be made in many different varieties. Other object was vase that I can decorate the place. Crystal appearance made me think that I can use in vase also I can fill inside with  crystal flowers in different colors and shape. 

I research some examples in lightning inspired by diamond shape.  This is an example for diamond shaped lightning.

Sequential Image Class Practice

We completed a class practice on creating sequential images this week.  I decided to take a couple of live photos of me and my friend are jumping . This pictures shows our actions and movements from standing to jumping into the air.  I used Iphone 14 Pro phone. I used 'burst' option in the camera and I set the timer for 5 seconds to capture our picture in the air. These are the settings below. In these pictures we inspired by Jumping Horse (1887) by Eadweard Muybridge. His photos include one horse and the man on the horse are jumping over an obstacle. And we decided take similar pictures like his photos which I put down below. And these are my original pictures.  The next step is that I am going to put my images together in Pixlr Editor. Major project : Initial ideas

 For digital arts I'm going to create project for our subject area. My subject area is interior design.   contemporary minimalist design of living room   I looked up some interior designs to decide what kind of design I wanted to do. I liked minimalist design, modern design and industrial design. And I searched a little bit more then I found contemporary design which is contains modernism, minimalism and art deco.
